2. ScanSnap Managing director doesn't open. It doesn't show annihilation. When I click, double-click, right-click & select "open," whatever, NOTHING HAPPENS.
3. Did that. No change.
4. Did that. No change.
Also, it was not installed into the root directory, and there'due south only i user on this computer.
The three other programs (ScanSnap Organizer, Cardminder, and the ABBYY Fine Reader) all open and had an icon shortcut on the desktop (the Manager did not).
I can browse using the Cardminder, only but business cards.

Yes....tried that. It told me that I already have the latest version and no update is available. Information technology looks like this scanner is going to be Fashion as well big of a pain in the **** and is just going to annoy the **** out of me (bold I could ever actually get it piece of work, that is, which is looking less and less likely each day). I'm just going to render it and get a different make. I simply idea I'd try Fujitsu because the reviews were really good, just I guess that was a big fault. Cheers anyhow, though.

I'thou in basically the same boat.
Win7 64bit and SnapScan manager will not open.
The latest sw is installed.
One of the managing director'south features is to enable/facilitate searchable pdfs.
This is one of my main reasons for buying the scanner. It's besides one of its advertised features.
Given Fujitsu claims the scanner is compatible up to windows 8, I would have expected them to have fixed all the bugs associated with windows 7 ... long ago.
This is a high cease scanner, and windows 7, 64 bit is a 'high end' OS - so this is incredibly disappointing.
Bought the scanner 'new' from Office Depot. When I got it home I noted the packaging had been disturbed and the unit was showing signs of 'pre-use'... I would have expected to have got a discount for buying a used (or possibly refurbished) unit - but nope, they didn't even tell me...

Had the aforementioned problem when we installed on a newly installed Win 7 64bit Enterprise Desktop. I fixed it past exiting the manager that wasn't connecting in the correct hand corner. Then checking the "Run this plan in compatibility for: Win XP Sp3". One time I did that the manager started correctly.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Its dainty to get help from people who have had like problems - simply, the real fashion to resolve these problems is with a dialog directly with the software vendor.
EVERY vendor should maintain an updated listing of bugs AND when they expect to fix specific ones.
IF there is a user workaround for a deficiency, the details should be maintained by the vendor - along with a caption as to what the root crusade is i.east. tool, input source or OS related 'deficiencies'... If the software vendor tin not offer a convincing explanation as to why their software doesn't piece of work under specific atmospheric condition, the 'integrity' or anticipated reliability of ANY workarounds, will be compromised.
